Insight Paper: Exploring challenges and opportunities around workplace mental health in Singapore and Asia

No one business has all the answers when it comes to workplace mental health. This is why the GBC is building a global community of visionary business leaders who are willing to commit to prioritising workplace mental health in their own organisations.

A key aspect of the GBC’s work is to facilitate the sharing of insights and good practice between businesses to accelerate positive action. For the first time this year, the GBC is running a series of Leadership Roundtables to allow leaders from Founding Partner companies and from the GBC Leadership Pledge existing or prospective signatories to discuss specific challenges and opportunities around workplace mental health in their region.

The first of these roundtables took place in early April in Singapore, providing a unique opportunity for over 20 leaders from Singapore’s diverse business sectors to have a culturally-nuanced dialogue around key issues. The session was chaired by Agnes Goh, Head of Credit and Market Risk at BHP, – a Founding Partner of GBC and the host for this first roundtable – and by Poppy Jaman OBE, Chair of the GBC and Global CEO of the MindForward Alliance.

The discussion surfaced a number of themes around common challenges and solutions which have been captured in a short paper to ensure that key insights from the session can be shared widely with other organisations in Asia Pacific.

Business leaders are encouraged to read and share the paper, and can send any query about the roundtable, GBC’s work to drive positive change in the region, or ways to join the Collaboration to hello@betterworkplacemh.com
