City Mental Health Alliance (registered under company name City Mental Health Alliance C.I.C.) (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the betterworkplacemh.com website (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”).
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with those personal data.
We use your personal data to provide and improve the Service.
The Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health
City Mental Health Alliance is operating the Service on behalf of The Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health (hereinafter referred to as the “Initiative”).
The Initiative is funded and directed by a group of multinational businesses (hereinafter referred to as the “Founding Partners”). Further information about the Initiative, including the full list of Founding Partners, can be found at betterworkplacemh.com/pledge.
Definitions
- Service Service is the betterworkplacemh.com website operated by City Mental Health Alliance on behalf of the Initiative.
- Personal DataPersonal Data means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).
- Usage Data Usage Data are data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
- Cookies Cookies are small files stored on your device (computer or mobile device).
- Controller Controller means the natural or legal person which (either alone or jointly or in common with other persons) determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal data are, or are to be, processed. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and UK Data Protection Act 2018 (“DPA”)
If our processing of your Personal Data is subject to the GDPR and/or the DPA, City Mental Health Alliance’s legal basis for collecting and using the Personal Data described in this Privacy Policy depends on the Personal Data we collect and the specific context in which we collect them.
Purpose of Processing
- To process your registration for the Services or to enter a competition.
- To send you information about changes to our terms or policies.
- To provide you with access to the Services and provide related customer support.
- To send you information you have requested.
- Investigating and complaints received from you or from others about our website or our Services.

Retention of Data
City Mental Health Alliance will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. City Mental Health Alliance will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your Personal Data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes and enforce our legal agreements and policies. City Mental Health Alliance will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when these data are used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain these data for longer periods.
If one or more third party organisations take over operating the Service in conjunction with or on behalf of the Initiative in the future, we will contractually require each organisation to retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes of providing the Service and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

City Mental Health Alliance may transfer your Personal Data to one or more third party organisations that operate the Service in conjunction with or on behalf of the Initiative in the future. Disclosure of Data
Business Transaction
If City Mental Health Alliance is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data are transferred and become subject to a different Privacy Policy.
Disclosure for Law Enforcement
Under certain circumstances, City Mental Health Alliance may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

- The right to withdraw consent. You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where City Mental Health Alliance relied on your consent to process your Personal Data.

Service Providers

- Google Analytics Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. These data are shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualise and personalise the ads of its own advertising network. You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity. Children’s Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from Children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove those Personal Data from our servers.
Sharing your personal data
We will only share your personal data in accordance with Data Protection Law. We may share such personal data where necessary, with employees, contractors, consultants or advisers, where the sharing of your personal data is necessary for the purposes of our recruitment process.
In addition, where necessary, your personal data may be shared with:
- Third party companies providing Disclosure and Barring Service checks if a position is offered and accepted.
- Any third party organisation that operates the Service on behalf of the Initiative in the future. This third party organisation will use and maintain the collected data in accordance with this privacy policy.
Your personal data will only be kept for as long as necessary for the purposes it is being processed.
Your rights over your own personal data
Depending on the reason for and/or legal basis on which your personal data is being processed, you have a right to:
- request access to it;
- ask for personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete to be corrected or completed;
- ask for personal data to be deleted, which we will do when required to by Data Protection Law;
- ask for the processing of your personal data to be restricted, which we will do when required to by Data Protection Law;
- ask for a copy of your personal data in a suitable format or ask for us to transfer it directly to someone else;
- object to us carrying out certain types of processing (see below); and
- if we have asked for consent to process your personal data, to withdraw this consent.

The right to object
You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data which is carried out:

We will stop any such processing that you object to when required by Data Protection Law.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time.. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
